Hannah Barco (then Sabri Reed) and I co-directed the Urban Anthropology Project the spring of 2006. As organizers, we (re)introduced participants to overlooked sites in downtown Durham for creative response. We provided to each participant a packet with questions, prompts, and materials for engaging and documenting his or her site (incorporated later into the installation above). Each participant then developed, through discussion with us and further research, a creative response, presented in the Transom Gallery.
